Friendship calls can ease loneliness of lockdown

24 April 2020

Margaret Foley, 76, a widow who lives alone in Glasgow, tells BBC Radio Scotland about the impact the COVID-19 lockdown is having on her and how thoughts of seeing her family again are keeping her going.

Margaret appeared alongside Adam Stachura, Age Scotland's head of policy, who spoke about the loneliness faced by tens of thousands of older people struggling to cope with isolation during the pandemic and how a friendship call from the Age Scotland Helpline can make all the difference to an older person's day.
