Age Scotland is passionate about promoting healthy active ageing, and this includes raising awareness of the need to support people to have good mental health in later years. Loneliness is a problem too many older people in Scotland face, and is damaging for mental health. Depression is a risk factor for dementia.
The Scottish Government has been consulting on its 10 year strategic plan for mental health services. Age Scotland is pleased to have had the opportunity to submit its views to the consultation and to outline the Charity’s ambitions for mental health services which provide the right support for older people who need to access them.
