Brian Sloan - Chief Executive
Since joining Age Scotland as Chief Executive in 2012 Brian has overseen the expansion of the charity's offering to enable and support older people to live healthier and happier lives.
Along with pioneering work to support the Men’s Sheds and Walking Football movements, he was instrumental in developing a helpline for Scotland’s older people and training programmes for business and organisations which address the challenges of our ageing society. Brian has spearheaded Age Scotland’s work in tackling loneliness and isolation among older people.
Brian’s background was in financial services, hospitality and retail, He has been involved in strategic business development for Young Enterprise Scotland, and was Head of Business Development with Capital Credit Union, Britain’s fifth largest not-for-profit cooperative. He has been a member of the Scottish Children’s Hearing Panel.
Adam Stachura – Head of Policy and Communications
Adam joined Age Scotland in February 2018 after more than a decade of senior roles working with politicians in Holyrood, Westminster and Brussels, as well as heading up campaigns and elections for a political party.
Adam oversees Age Scotland’s policy development, communications, campaigns, digital and influencing work, supporting a team dedicated to improving the life of older people in Scotland. Adam and the team have been working on solutions to Scotland’s loneliness and isolation problem, banking and age-friendly financial services, transport, social care, dementia and housing for older people.
