General election 2019
Stand with us for those in need
Ahead of the 12 December general election, we're calling for the next Government to invest in older people and the public services they need.
As our population continues to age at a faster rate than the rest of the UK we must invest in services that will make our society more age inclusive.
- 93,000 people in Scotland are living with dementia
- 180,000 Scottish pensioners live in relative poverty
- 13% of all single person households are aged 65+
- 100,000 people aged 65+ in Scotland feel lonely all or most of the time
At this General Election we want to see every political party bring forward policies to help our older population, those in the greatest need above all, with the aim of enabling more people to enjoy a dignified, secure and fulfilling later life we all want for ourselves and those we love.
