Working with the NACWG
Age Scotland is proud to have pledged support to the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG).
The NACWG was established to advise the First Minister on what’s needed to tackle gender inequality in Scotland. Organisations and individuals can become members of NACWG’s Circle – a group of supporters and advisors who help generate ideas and solutions that will inform NACWG’s work.
The NACWG will consider these ideas, alongside other evidence, as they prepare their annual report and recommendations for Scotland’s First Minister.
Age Scotland has committed publicly to the following pledge:
“We believe in an inclusive Scotland where all women and girls can reach their full potential. As members of the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls’ Circle of support, we are allies in promoting gender equality. We support the NACWG’s strategy and will take ownership of our place in this movement. We pledge to host our own ‘Spotlight Wee Circles’ to discuss the importance of tackling gender inequality and raise awareness on this vital issue.”
As part of our commitment, Age Scotland hosts regular 'Spotlight Wee Circles' with staff and volunteers to feed back on key issues and inform the work of the NACWG.
