Our senior management team works closely with our trustees and carry out the day-to-day running of our charity.

They implement our key strategic initiatives, plan and implement our services and their delivery, and lead in ensuring appropriate engagement with all the communities we serve across Scotland.

Katherine Crawford - CEO

Katherine Crawford

CEO

Joining the charity as our Chief Executive Officer in July 2023, Katherine Crawford has 19 years of experience in the charity sector, working with Parkinson's UK. Katherine has seen first-hand the challenges older people can face through that work and it is seeing the impact of charities like ours that energises and inspires her.

Bringing experience of influencing and campaigning at the Scottish government, working with volunteers and colleagues in developing and delivering services to benefit people wherever they live, Katherine is keen to focus her energy now to ensure every single older person in Scotland is confident that their voice is heard and knows that we are here.

Living in Fife with her husband, she enjoys getting out to the beach with her lively re-homed Labrador and playing lots of social tennis. Katherine has one son, who is bouncing between home and college.

Becky Goss

Director of People and Culture

Becky Goss joined Age Scotland in March 2023 as Director of People and Culture, bringing over 20 years experience of people focussed HR service design and delivery.

She is passionate about working to ensure that staff and volunteers feel valued and supported to deliver services to support older people in Scotland.

Fiona Cross

Fiona Cross

Director of Advice, Support and Community Services

Fiona is the Director of Advice, Support and Community Services and is responsible for overseeing the charity’s information and advice services, community development, dementia, veterans’, health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion activities.

After nearly 30 years of working for communities of interest, she is still passionate about enabling and supporting community-led initiatives which put people at the centre of the design and delivery of services.

Before joining Age Scotland in December 2018, Fiona was Director of the Ripple in Northeast Edinburgh which works to improve the quality of life of people of all ages in that part of the city.

Fiona has extensive experience of working to improve health and wellbeing as a former nurse working with the HIV+ community and at Mid and East Lothian Drugs Project for those people impacted by substance misuse.

Married with three children, Fiona likes to unwind by reading, cooking, practising kundalini yoga and walking her whippet around some of the many beauty spots where she lives in East Lothian.

Adam Stachura - Spokespeople

Adam Stachura

Associate Director for Policy, Communications and External Affairs

Adam heads up the charity’s team which works on policy development and research, communications and media relations, campaigns, political influencing, and engagement with older people. He has been with Age Scotland since 2018 and acts as a principal spokesperson for the charity in the media, at external events and with politicians. He takes a lead for the charity on a range of policy areas such as loneliness and isolation, financial hardship, and consumer issues.

Before joining Age Scotland, Adam spent more than a decade working in senior political roles for the Liberal Democrats as their campaign director for Scotland and with politicians in Holyrood, Westminster and Brussels.

Derek Mckinley

Derek McKinley

Chief Financial Officer

Derek joined Age Scotland in December 2014 and is responsible for the finances of the charity and its subsidiaries. He is also the Company Secretary for Age Scotland and all subsidiaries.

Before joining Age Scotland, Derek worked for Bauer Media, a global media business with interests in radio and magazines. He was financially responsible for the Group’s radio stations in Scotland.

Married with three children and one grandchild, Derek enjoys spending time with family & friends and travelling. He is currently working through a sizeable bucket list of destinations!
