Support and training for community groups and services

With around a quarter of a million military veterans in Scotland, and almost half of them aged 75 and older, the veterans’ community is one that no older people’s group and service can afford to ignore.

We can boost your confidence and capability for working with and supporting older veterans and their families.

A veterans warm welcome

Free training days

We offer free open training days for staff and volunteers in community groups and services.  These events will boost confidence and ability to support two key communities within the older population: people affected by dementia, and people who have served in the UK armed forces (and their dependants).  All courses run 10:00 hrs (refreshments from 9.30 hrs) to 15:30 hrs.  For more information and to book email veteransproject@agescotland.org.uk.  Pre-booking is essential.
