Local charity appoints new Trustees

06 April 2017

Tim FurnessTwo local NHS leaders have joined the Board of local charity Age UK Sheffield as Trustees.

Tim Furness and Paul Harriman will help to lead the charity’s work in supporting people aged 50 or over in Sheffield.

Mr Furness recently retired, having worked in the NHS since 1990 in various roles in commissioning, focussing on planning and joint commissioning of services for older people and mental health services, finishing as Director of Delivery for NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group in 2016.

Paul HarrimanMr Harriman has been heavily involved in leading the re-design of processes for frail elderly patients in his role at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where he is the Head of Special Programmes, Service Improvement.

The new Trustees join the Board at a time when Age UK Sheffield is seeking to develop its work in helping to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital, and support prompt discharge when patients are medically fit but need independence support to live safely at home.
