The carer support groups and activities listed below have been created specifically for the carers, friends and families of people living with dementia. They provide a great opportunity to make new friends, and meet people who are experiencing similar lifestyles and responsibilities. These groups also provide an opportuity to seek advice and support. See below for a list of carer support groups for people living with dementia across Sheffield.

Dementia Carers Support Group - Woodseats


Carers Cafe - Dore and Totley

There is a new Carers Cafe now running in Dore and Totley. It runs on the first Wednesday of each month at the Totley united Reformed Chruch from 10am to 12 noon. It's a great opportunity to meet other carers and have a friendly chat and refreshments. There'll be visitors attending the cafes from helpful organisations too.

Your Farm Time - Heeley

Your Farm Time

Farm sessions for carers and ex-carers of people living at home with dementia

Come and enjoy the atmosphere and experiences at the Farm through various practical tasks. Join in for just a few minutes or the whole session. Do as little or as much as you like. No experience necessary.

Do you care for someone with FTD?

Feel free to come down and join our FTD carer’s group session on the 2nd Tuesday or every month at Heeley City Farm. This is a highly recognised supportive and knowledgeable group made up of carers, & ex-carers of all ages. These sessions are run by two brothers who cared for their mother who lived with FTD for over a decade.
