Memory or dementia cafes as they are commonly known are generally created to encourage people living with dementia and their carers to join others for tea, coffee, cake, and conversation. The cafés are created to provide a safe, welcoming and enjoyable place for both people who are experiencing some memory loss or have a diagnosis of mild to moderate dementia and their family members, carers and friends who may be feeling a little more isolated than others. The cafes usually provide activities to engage, inform, stimulate and entertain everyone. Plus, they provide a great opportunity to make new friends, keep active and feel more confident. There are many different memory/dementia cafes across Sheffield provided by a variety of services such as People Keeping Well services.  See below for a list of all current cafes across Sheffield.

Dore Rosemary Memory Cafe

Age UK Sheffield run a Dementia cafe in Dore called the Dore Rosemary Memory Café.

Everyone is welcome and the sessions are free to attend. (Small donations towards refreshments and running costs are always welcome and greatly appreciated as they help us continue to keep these services running.)

When:

The Dore Rosemary Café is open on the first and the third Tuesdays of each month at 2pm - 4pm.

Where:

They are held at Dore Methodist Church Hall on Savage Lane.

Transport:

Transport 17 will be offering accessible minibus door to door transport to and from the venues for a small charge ( £1.50 return per person). Please let us know you would like to book your place on the Transport 17 minivan when you call us on the above number.

Totley Rosemary Memory Cafe

Age UK Sheffield run a Dementia cafe in Totley is called the Totley Rosemary Memory Café.

Everyone is welcome and the sessions are free to attend. (Small donations towards refreshments and running costs are always welcome and greatly appreciated as they help us continue to keep these services running.)

When:

The Dore Rosemary Café is open on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 2pm - 4pm.

Where:

They are held at All Saints Totley Church Hall on Totley Hall Lane. p>

Bents Green Dementia Cafe

The Bents Green Dementia Café is open on the first and third Thursday of each month at 2pm - 4pm.

Where:

They are held at the Bents Green Methodist Church, Ringinglow Road, S11 7PU.

Unfortunately we are not currently able to offer transport for this café. 

Hillsborough Cafe

Everyone is welcome and the sessions are free to attend. (Small donations towards refreshments and running costs are always welcome and greatly appreciated as they help us continue to keep these services running.)

When:

The Hillsborough Café is open on the Second Wednesday of each month of each month at 10am - 12pm.

Where:

They are held at the Hillsborough Arena, Middlewood Road, S6 4HA .

Greenhill Dementia Cafe

Greenhill Dementia Cafe is provided by the Reach South Sheffield PKW organisation with support from partner organisations on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 2pm – 4pm Greenhill Methodist Church, S8 7RL. Newfield Green Dementia Cafe

Newfield Green Dementia Café is provided by the Reach South Sheffield PKW organisation with support from partner organisations. Meersbrook Memory cafe

Dementia Cafe Beighton

The Dementia Café Beighton is hosted by South East Sheffield People Keeping Well Partnership and is held at Beighton Miners Welfare, 52a high street, S20 1ED. This Dementia Café is for people living with dementia and their carers but also open to anyone that is feeling socially isolated. It is hosted by South East Sheffield People Keeping Well Partnership and is held between 10am – 12pm at The Salvation Army Woodhouse Tannery St. There is music, Cake, Tea and Coffee. Dementia Community Social Cafe For Men - Sharrow

Sporting Memories Cafe Hillsborough

This is a dementia friendly group which meets weekly at Hillsborough Library and will provide a safe space to be social + reminisce about the sporting history in Sheffield. Dementia Cafe and Entertainment Shiregreen

This service is provided by the People Keeping Well service SOAR. It takes place once a month on Thursdays 2pm-4pm Upcoming dates are: March 5th, April 2nd, May 28th, June 25th and July 30th 2020. Laurel and Limes Coffee Mornings - Crosspool

A new coffee morning has recently started running every Monday at a local Sheffield Care Home. It’s aim is to help reduce social isolation.
The care home is asking local people if they’d like to pop along and have a cuppa and a catch up with care home residents. Making new friends and chatting to new people is so beneficial to health and wellbeing! Plus, it’s a lot of fun and guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face!
There’ll be entertaining and engaging activities to get involved in!
The coffee Morning is a dementia friendly environment and local people of all ages are welcome to attend with their friend, partner or carer too!

Every Monday, 10am - 12pm

Access: The number 51 bus stops just outside.
There's no need to book, simply show up on the day! Attendance and refreshments are provided free of charge but donations towards running costs are always greatly appreciated. 

New BAME Dementia and Memory Cafe - Darnall

The café will initially meet once per month on the following Mondays 1:00-3.00pm:
