Last month 30 DENSO Associates celebrated the 30th Ironbridge Half Marathon by raising £3,000 for Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.

The running group contained both novices and more experienced runners, but they all encouraged each other to reach the finish line. The money they raised will go towards supporting people living with dementia in the Telford area.

Catherine McCloy, Head of Income Generation at Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, who received the cheque, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with the associates at DENSO, it’s so heart-warming to meet people who are willing to push themselves and go out of their way to raise funds to support older people in our county.’

DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd based in Telford have been a corporate supporter of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin since 2018, when the company conducted a staff vote to choose a local, independent charity as part of their commitment towards corporate social responsibility.

Simon Cope, Head of Quality and Engineering at DENSO, said: ‘We are so pleased to be able to present this cheque to support the community of Telford. Our vision for corporate social responsibility is reinforced by the daily actions of our employees who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of older people in our communities.’
