Sadly, due to unexpected rising hotel costs, Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin has reluctantly taken the decision not to run our annual holiday for local older people to Llandudno in 2019.

The weeklong break, taken at the Queen’s Hotel in Llandudno, has been run by Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin for over 16 years to support local older people who find it difficult to travel on holiday independently. Since then the holiday has proven to be very popular, with demand for places exceeding supply year on year.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘This has not been an easy decision to take and we are very disappointed but we simply couldn’t support the significant rate increase for 2019, which we believe would have been cost prohibitive for our holiday travellers. However, we are already considering a number of alternatives and look forward to sharing details of a brand new arrangement for 2020.’
