Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership, which will see voluntary sector organisations across Shropshire developing services to promote wellbeing and independence.

Shropshire Council is funding the Wellbeing & Independence Partnership and the five partners are Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, The Mayfair Centre, Oswestry Qube, Royal Voluntary Service and Shropshire Rural Community Council.

Heather Osborne, Chief Executive of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin said: ‘We are really delighted to secure this funding from the council and very excited to be working in this new partnership. As voluntary and community sector organisations, we have always worked closely together, but this partnership provides the opportunity for us to take this to the next level, working together to provide, develop and improve services which will help people across Shropshire improve their wellbeing.’

A number of other organisations have expressed an interest in joining the partnership and the hope is that the partnership will grow and develop for the future. The partners will provide a wide range of services, including: help at home, befriending, living well activities, day services and opportunities for volunteering.

The new partnership will begin on 1 April 2019. If you’d like to find out more about it, call Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin on 01743 233 123.
