Rose Morris, manager at our Oswestry charity shopAge UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s three charity furniture shops offer a variety of volunteering opportunities that benefit you and local older people.

Our shops in Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wellington are offering volunteer opportunities to anyone who is interested in meeting people. We are also urging students who have just finished their studies and want to gain work experience in a retail environment, to come forward.

Retail opportunities

Our retail roles would suit anyone over the age of 18, including those having a break from college or university, taking a gap year or just graduated. We are specifically looking for volunteers who enjoy meeting people, can offer good customer service and be available to do a minimum of one shift a week.

Driving opportunities

Our van driver and driver's assistant roles would suit anyone who can handle (often big) items of furniture, which need manoeuvring for deliveries and collections. These roles take our volunteers all over Shropshire, so it is a good opportunity to get out and about too. We would need a commitment of one full day a week.

Anyone interested in joining the team at one of our charity shops should pop in for a chat with the manager:

  • Rose Morris at Oswestry
  • Scott Frampton at Shrewsbury
  • Paula Hinks at Wellington

Profits from each charity furniture store are put towards the delivery of valuable services for older people in the local community.
