Run for Age UK Solihull

If you are interested in doing the half marathon or 10k in aid of Age UK Solihull, complete our Expression of Interest Form and we will send you further details when they are available.

When: May 2023 (date tbc)

Where: Birmingham City Centre

Challenge yourself to either:

  • A 10k run starting in Birmingham City Centre, past the iconic Bullring, and out along Pershore Road to the beautiful Cannon Hill Park which marks the half way point. Runners then loop round the world famous Edgbaston Cricket Ground and past Calthorpe Park, before a final section through Digbeth before the grandstand city centre finish.
  • Or a 13.1 mile half marathon starting in the city centre, through the cricketing area of Edgbaston and onto leafy Bournville, which marks the half way point – then joins the 10k route at Cannon Hill Park, passing Edgbaston, Calthorpe Park on the homestretch into the city centre for the grandstand finish.

Not only will you challenge yourself and improve your fitness, but by taking part in aid of Age UK Solihull, you will also be helping us to support older people in the Solihull borough.

In 2019 we had six runners taking part, raising over £1,350 in total. After the event couldn't go ahead in 2020 or 2021, the run returned for 2022, when three runners took part in aid of Age UK Solihull, raising a total of £575.

We ask that you raise a minimum of £200 in sponsorship, and then we will cover your entry fee!

If you'd like to take part in aid of Age UK Solihull this year, please complete our Expression of Interest form, email us events@ageuksolihull.org.uk or call us on 0121 704 7842 and we will send further information when it is available.

The money you raise will stay in Solihull to help us provide advice, support and companionship for older people across the borough.

Raise Funds Online

Since the closure of Virgin Money Giving, we have signed up to two fundraising platforms:

JustGiving

JustGiving is the world's most trusted platform for online giving. You can create a page to keep all your donations in one place, and sponsors can send you messages of support and encouragement.

 Create a JustGiving page

GivePenny

GivePenny is a newer platform which makes fundraising more exciting and interactive by integrating with other apps. If you set up a GivePenny "Playlist" fundraising page, you can update your supporters on your milestones through Strava and FitBit. You can create your very own running playlist on Spotify, and your sponsors can add a song to it with their donation! You can find instructions for setting up a playlist fundraising page here, or drop us a line if we can help you!
