Let Maudie tell you about Ageing Well

Ageing Well is a National programme promoting physical activity for mental and physical health and wellbeing.

“Adding years to life, adding life to years” is our aim and Age UK Somerset organises activities and sessions throughout Somerset including North Somerset.

  • Flexercise - Peggy's Story

Peggy* has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis since the age of 34.  At age 74 the condition is particularly bad in her hands, feet and knees.  On some bad days Peggy found herself unable to get out of bed.  Finally, after having a heart attack four years ago, Peggy's confidence took a nose-dive and she wasn't getting out of the house at all.

Peggy then discovered that exercise helped.

  • Tai Chi - Anne's Story

Anne originally got involved with the Tai Chi class when she saw it advertised in her local village newsletter.  She had been diagnosed with Osteopenia when she found herself tripping over a lot, and felt she needed to do some exericse.
