Our people are our greatest asset and we value everyone's dedication and enthusiasm to our work. From an 80 year volunteer who has been visiting isolated people for over 20 years, to the younger members of staff who bring new skills and ideas to the team. As an organisation, we are committed to supporting all of our people whether they are current staff members, volunteers or looking to join our organisation.

How we are funded

We rely on your support to keep serving the community. We are supported by donations from the public, support from local businesses, health and social care contracts, and some charitable grants.

  • Meet our staff

    Our frontline staff provide support and leadership to our delivery teams, ensuring that our services are well-designed, properly integrated, and accessible to respond to the increasing needs of Southampton’s older people, and that are resources are efficiently managed to meet the requirements of our externally-funded activities. The team are complemented by the vital work of fundraising staff, and resource to co-ordinate the recruitment, induction and support of existing and new volunteers.

    Our Senior Management Team provide strategic and operational support to our fundraising and service delivery teams, and ensure that the organisation’s activities are run safely, compliant with legislation, underpinned by good financial and data management.

    The team are supported by our highly-valued volunteers who give their time freely to help us with our strategic direction, provide information and advice, office and administration support, visit and call older people in their homes, run a range of activities, and assist with fundraising and events.

  • Find out about our volunteers

    Our services couldn’t run with without the support of our amazing volunteer team. We have over 100 volunteers delivering services to Southampton’s older people, and helping us run and develop our organisations.

    Volunteers give their time to carry out a range of support including:

    •Information and advice on a wide range of topics from health to consumer issues

    •Benefits advice and help with claims to improve financial independence

    •High quality Day Care service to support independent living and respite for carers

    •Strategic support  and direction as a Trustee

    •Finance, IT, admin, fundraising and reception support to help run the organisation
