The Orpheus Centre presented Age UK Surrey with a cheque for £219.10 at their Student Awards Ceremony on Friday 5th October 2018.

Jenny Merritt, Regional Services Co-ordinator for East Surrey was delighted to attend the ceremony and accept the donation on behalf of Age UK Surrey.

Jenny said: “The Ceremony was a great evening, and we are very grateful to the 2017/2018 Academic Year 3 students for raising this money for Age UK Surrey.

“We are an independent local charity helping to improve the lives of older people. Donations, such as this, are vital to ensure we can continue to provide services across Surrey to help combat loneliness and isolation.”

The Orpheus Centre opened in Godstone in 1997, founded by Sir Richard Stilgoe, and aims to equip young disabled people with the skills and confidence they need in order to live independent and fulfilling lives.
