Charles has been a trustee of Age UK Sutton since December 2015.
He spent most of his career leading various policy projects at the Department of Health and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority. He is currently an Associate with Dods Training delivering training workshops for central government’s policy profession and the civil service fast stream.
From 2011 to 2015, he was deputy chair of the Caxton Foundation, a charity set up by the government to provide discretionary financial support to people who contracted hepatitis C from contaminated blood. He is currently chair of the National Gamete Donation Trust and a trustee of the Caldecott Foundation which provides specialist residential care, fostering families and education for disadvantaged, vulnerable and traumatised young people in the UK.
Charles lives in Warlingham, Surrey, where he is a parish councillor.
