Kate James, Chair of Age UK Sutton Board of Trustees Kate joined the Board of Age UK Sutton at the end of 2014 and became Chair the following year.

Most of her career was spent in the Department of Health working on major policy initiatives and management changes including NHS reorganisations. After leaving the Department of Health, Kate became Chief Executive of a successful charity which runs care homes, and during this time, also served on the board of the National Care Forum.

An experienced non-executive/trustee, Kate was previously on the boards of bodies as diverse as Scope and the London Probation Trust, and currently serves on the boards of Age UK Sutton, Age UK London and Self Management UK. Kate is keen to see Age UK Sutton developing and expanding its services to benefit even more older people in Sutton.
