Make a Will Tuesday

Writing a will is a crucial way of ensuring that your wishes are carried out when you are no longer around – and it needn’t be a complicated process.

So if you’re one of the 58% of people in the UK who has not yet made a will, why not book an appointment at one of our Make a Will Tuesday clinics, run in partnership with Touch Solicitors? For a suggested donation per will of £84 (for a single person) or £126 (for married/cohabiting couples and civil partners), you can give yourself peace of mind that your loved ones will be taken care of when you are no longer here.

Make a Will Tuesday is open to everyone residing in Tameside, regardless of age. And 100% of your donation goes to Age UK Tameside, allowing us to continue providing invaluable services for people in your local community.

Get in touch today to book your appointment...and make a real difference to your community at the same time.

Where: Age UK Tameside, 131 Katherine Street, Ashton-under-Lyne OL6 7AW

Watercolour Classes - Only available to 131 Club Members

At our watercolour classes Rosemary Randell – a visual artist who has exhibited around the world – will take you step-by-step through the basic techniques, including how to set up your painting space and paints, different aspects of colour theory, and how to create special effects.

Using exercises, you’ll work at your own pace and by the end will have had the chance to create two paintings of your own: an English country pub and a winter farm scene.

Session times can be subject to change so if you are attending for the first time, please call in advance on 0161 308 5000 to check.

Tai Chi and Chair-based Yoga sessions

As part of our Best Foot Forward Falls Prevention programme, we now offer Tai Chi and chair-based yoga sessions every week.

Yoga has been shown to improve overall health when practiced regularly as a lifestyle and can be beneficial for people with mobility issues. Tai Chi’s combination of deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements means that it helps improve posture and balance and promote muscle strength in the legs.

Classes take place in our new Best Foot Forward exercise studio and are led by qualified professionals. If you’d like to come along and give them a try, why not contact us (details below) to find out more and book your place?

When:  Chair-based yoga: Mondays, 2-2.45pm / Tai Chi: Fridays, 1.30.2.30pm

Where: Age UK Tameside, 131 Katherine Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7AW
