Best Foot Forward is a programme which aims to help those aged 50+ maintain their strength and balance. 

Most people don’t like to think about steps they can take to reduce the risk of having a serious fall. Even more don’t think they are at risk at all – but the truth is that about a third of all people aged over 65 fall each year, with higher rates amongst those over 75. 

And it’s not just those who are old or frail who are at risk. Even those who are confident of their capabilities may have a fall; perhaps as a result of side-effects from new tablets, because of poorly fitted shoes, due to problems with eyesight or by tripping over something in the home.

Regardless of a person’s current level of activity, Best Foot Forward has a range of activities to suit all abilities – with the goal of keeping local people aged 50+ active and independent.
