Goodbye to our Insurance Trading team

Published on 19 April 2018 10:33 AM

After over 25 years of trading we have to say goodbye to our amazing staff and volunteers.

Over the past twenty five years the charitable work of Age UK Wakefield District, previously Age Concern Wakefield District, has been supported by commission income generated by our Insurance Trading team through sales of Insurance. Over this period the activity has brought more than £500K into the charity, enabling us to offer support to thousands of older people and to grow with confidence to where we are today.

In addition to this staff members Jill and Gillian along with long serving volunteers Mollie and Brenda have clocked up an amazing 90 years’ service between them and as a team have brought willing hand and  hearts to the charity, helping us nurture a spirit of generosity that sits at the heart of all that we do.

It is with a great deal of sadness, due to circumstances beyond our control that we have had to withdraw from local Insurance sales and consequently say goodbye to our team of valued and trusted staff and volunteers.

We, along with many valued customers, will miss the warm hearted, helpful and friendly  team!

And whilst we very much hope that they will remain part of the Age UK ‘family’ we wish them well in all their new ventures and say a wholehearted ‘THANK YOU’ for all that they have done over the years.
