Age UK Wakfield District provide Social Inclusion Groups and a Lunch Clubs in Schools Service within the Wakefield District.  We also support Castleford Men's Group.

Social Inclusion Groups

Social Inclusion Groups are for individuals who are socially isolated or cannot get out due to poor mobility.  The groups meet for a chat, enjoy activities and to have access to information and support.  There is escorted transport available for the groups.

Social Inclusion Groups meet at:

South Elmsall Group

Farfield Court, Ashgrove, South Elmsall, WF9 2UN

The group meet every Thursday, 12.00pm to 2.30pm

There is a small charge of £7.00 which includes transport and activities

Eastmoor Group

St Andrews Church, Peterson Road, Wakefield, WF1 4DX

The group meet every Monday, 11.30am to 2.00pm

There is a charge of £12.00 which includes transport, activities and 2 course lunch

St George's Community Centre Group

Broadway, Lupset, Wakefield, WF2 8AA

The group meet every Friday, 11.45am to 2.15pm

There is a charge of £14.00 per session with transport or £11.00 using own transport

This includes a 3 course lunch, quizzes, games and chair based exercises.

Lunch Clubs in Schools

Providing affordable, easily accessible, nutritious meals in warm comfortable surroundings, giving older and younger people the opportunity to meet share experiences and develop intergenerational activities.

Castleford Men's Group

Castleford Men's Group is an informal social group for older men. 

Castleford Men's Group meet at:

 The group meet every Wednesday, 10.00am to 12noon.

Activities include quizzes, dominoes, pool, ten pin bowling, nature and health walks and trips to places of interest.
