Do you have excellent Handyperson/carpentry skills and a passion for supporting older people?  

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic handyperson, used to undertaking a wide range of work in people’s homes? 

Age UK Wandsworth works to improve the quality of life of older people and their carers in the London borough of Wandsworth through the provision of a range of preventative services.  The Handyperson Service provides practical support in people’s homes to enable them to maintain independent living.

You will be visiting people in their homes to assist with a wide range of practical tasks such as fitting grab rails, bannister rails and key safes, putting up blinds, changing tap washers and moving furniture to make space for hospital beds and equipment.    You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working with older people.

You will work closely with the office team to collect jobs and feedback any issues as well as complete basic paperwork to support the reporting process. 

The post is subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

 £25,233 per annum, (£15,140 pro-rata for 21 hours (including London Weighting)
Hours: 14-21 hours per week part-time
