We have been on a mission to make sure every isolated older person in Wandsworth has a reason to smile this Christmas.
Over 1800 deliveries have now been made.
Why have we done this?
2020 has been tough. With all the usual Christmas events cancelled and likely restrictions on family visiting, winter is looking difficult too. We wanted to ensure every isolated older person in Wandsworth has a reason to smile this Christmas.
What did we do?
We made and delivered Christmas parcels to over 1800 isolated older people in Wandsworth. The parcels contained lovely treat items, Christmas cards from local school children, craft kits to keep busy with, practical things to keep warm and safe, plus important information on all the local support available.
Can I still help?
All of our deliveries have now been made, but if you want to support our work in Wandsworth you are still able to make a donation here
We are hugely grateful to the 11 schools, 40 delivery volunteers, Wandsworth borough Council, Wandsworth Fire Brigade, 8 community organisations/local companies and hundreds of generous local residents who have enabled Operation Christmas Cheer to happen.
We are also grateful to the Wimbledon Foundation and 'Painting our world in silver' who donated significantly towards each parcel.
