Trustee Profile: Steve Donaldson

We're currently recruiting dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

As part of this process, we wanted to introduce you to our current Board and share a little more information about their background, interests and skills.

Second up is Steve Donaldson, our Deputy Chair of Trustees:

“Born in Bootle Merseyside, I moved with my wife and two girls to West Cumbria in 1991, living in Cockermouth.

I became a trustee at Age UK West Cumbria a little over two years ago. I was predominantly motivated by the difficulties my own mother had in later life.

I think that my primary contribution since becoming a trustee relates to having a critical and open mind, especially when overseeing the development of the charity at a difficult time for the social care sector.

Since my retirement from Sellafield I have taken on a part-time non-executive Director role and enjoy fell walking when weather and time permits.

I would encourage others to consider the role of trustee. Personal contributions are essential for caring and compassionate society.”
