SCAM Awareness presentation

SCAM Awareness presentation by graduates from the Financial Conduct Authority

This is a very topical issue and older people are often vulnerable to increased financial risk. Older people are often targeted by financial scams as they are seen as ‘easy targets’ and perceived to be less financially literate than younger generations. Tactics often used rely on forging relationships over long periods of time and loneliness makes people more susceptible to this.

This event is a way to help inform older people about the risks of their financial exposure whilst also building a supportive social network for older people in the local area. This will be an effective way to provide older people with effective tools and measures to protect themselves from scams, as well as improving their quality of life.
