A service providing simple odd jobs to people aged 65+ with a long term health condition and their carers.

How it Works

You can be referred into our scheme from another Age UK Wirral Service or through self-referral by getting in touch directly on the email provided on the back of this Leaflet. You will then be contacted either by phone or in person to get an idea of the job/s to be done. We will then conduct a home visit to assess the job/s and you will then be booked in with a time and date for the work/s to be carried out by our friendly Handyperson Steve.

What We Can Do

Our service aims to carry out a variety of small odd jobs that will help people in our community to be able to be comfortable and safe in their home and living environments and enable them to live their life to the full!

Some of the odd jobs that we provide are…

  • Keysafe fittings
  • Handrail fittings
  • Curtain pole fitting
  • Changing lightbulbs
  • Moving of lightweight furniture
  • Changing batteries
  • Unblocking sinks/u-bends
Please note that the Handyperson Service is for small odd jobs only. We do not undertake any major works e.g. electrics, plumbing, cleaning or anything at height.

Meet Our Team

We are Stacy and Steve and we run the new Handyperson Service For Age UK Wirral.

Stacy’s Role

Hi I’m Stacy. It will be my job to have the initial contact with you and find out a little bit more about the job/s that you need doing. I will then come out to your property with Steve and conduct an assessment of the work/s to be carried out. I’ll then plan a convenient date and time with you for the work/s to be completed.

Steve’s Role

Hi, I’m Steve, Age UK Wirral’s Handyperson. It will be my job to come out with Stacy and assess the job/s to be completed. I will then come back to your Property at a later date to complete the work required in a professional and timely manner.
