CQC Report 2017
After an initial home visit by one of the Care Organisers, we look for a volunteer to take the place of the carer so they can have a break. We offer companionship, preparation of simple meals, help with personal care and simple moving and handling tasks.
Arrangements may be made to cover the day time or evening on an occasional or regular basis, night care, live-in care and pop-in visits, providing a suitable volunteer is available. All these arrangements take place in the older person's home, and a charge is usually made.
We have been able to extend the help we give through our Care Worker Scheme. We employ several care workers to accompany older people with dementia on activities away from their own home. This increases their social contact and gives a carer a break.
Our In Safe Hands staff provide information and advice on a wide range of issues that affect older people and those who care for them. For more information, please contact our In Safe Hands Organiser on the number below.
