How you can help Age UK Cheshire make a difference for older people across Cheshire.
Is your business looking to make a difference this year? We operate services vital to older people across Cheshire, and need your help to ensure these continue. Below are just a few of the services that would benefit from your support.
It is often said that time is the greatest gift that you can give, and with that in mind we are starting a new befriending scheme to connect people and create friendships.
Sharing Time aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness, by matching volunteers with an older person who would benefit from having someone come and visit them regularly. With your help we can get this service up and running. (Please click on the link at the bottom of this page for more information about this service).
Dementia Support Groups
Dementia does not discriminate, is not an inevitable part of getting older and is more than just memory loss. It affects 670,000 people in England, and is set to double in just 30 years.
We know if we could expand our Dementia Activities Groups across the area, we can help combat the anxiety, depression and loneliness of dementia. (Please click on the link at the bottom of this page for more information about this service)
Age UK Cheshire's Day Services aims to relieve isolation by promoting independence and integration into social circles. We operate Older People Enjoying Life (OPEL), traditional day centres and lunch clubs from 4 venues in Northwich, Chester, Ellesmere Port and Little Neston, which are ideal for older people who like to get out of the house now and then to join activities and make new friends.
