Many of our services are supported by trained experienced volunteers. If you have the time to give, then why not volunteer for Age UK Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly? We have a number of volunteering opportunties that could be just the right fit for you and the community.

How can volunteering benefit you?

We have a number of areas which are reliant on the expertise and skills of volunteers, If you have time to give, no matter how much, then we would love to hear from you! Volunteering isn't just vital for the charity, it can really benefit you as well.

1. Become part of the Cornish community
Be part of a community. Volunteering can help you feel part of something outside your friends and family.
2. Gain confidence and build new skills.
Volunteering can help you gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. Volunteering can also help you gain new skills, gain experience and sometimes even qualifications for you or that potential new job.
3. Make a difference.
Volunteering can have a real and valuable positive affect on people, communities and society in general.
4. Make new friends.
Volunteering can help you meet different kinds of people and make new friends.
5. Take on a challenge.
Through volunteering, you can challenge yourself to try something different, achieve personal goals, practice using your skills and discover hidden talents.
6. Have fun!
Most volunteers have a great time, regardless of why they do it.

Volunteering Opportunities

New opportunities are always arising, from one-off support for events such as the Royal Cornwall Show, to regular weekly volunteering. The following areas are reliant on the expertise and skills of volunteers:
• TAP - Volunteer Drivers
• Mind & Movement

• Day Centre Services
• Fundraising
• Minibus Drivers for trips & outings
• Project Support

• Specialist Activities

We are also now actively recruiting for volunteers in two further areas that benefit the Cornish community

• Befriending
• Information & Advice Volunteers

To ensure the safety of the people who use our services, all of our volunteers are DBS checked. We will always provide appropriate training and support and pay any expenses that are incurred.
