We are recruiting! Would you like to join our board of trustees?

Our trustees volunteer their time and expertise to ensure that we meet our legal, ethical and financial requirements, and future viability and strategy. Current Volunteer Vacancies:

  • Activities

    Our activities volunteers make a positive difference to those attending the activities by helping to set up and support one of our weekly activities. It's an opportunity to engage and meet new people, have fun and create an enjoyable experience for our clients who attend activities.

  • Admin

    As an administrative volunteer, you'll play an important role at our Brigstock Road office by responding to inquiries both over the phone and in person. Join us in this impactful volunteer opportunity, contributing your skills to ensure the smooth functioning of our administrative operations. 

  • Befriending

    Support an older person living in Croydon to regain their confidence and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation. Befrienders provide companionship in the client's home, or by regular phone calls. Each volunteer is matched with a local older person and meet weekly, you could make a friend for life!

  • Gardening

    Help us to maintain and grow our garden, we're proud to have a range of plants, flowers and fruit and vegetables growing in our garden! You'll be contributing to our garden for the enjoyment of our older people visiting us.

  • Information and Advice

    From Benefits outreach to the telelphone helpline, we offer a dedicated information and advice service. By providing information and advice you can support Croydon residents by empowering them with information to vital services.

  • PIC Tech Volunteer

    Become a Personal Independence Co-ordinator (PIC) Tech Volunteer and embark on a fulfilling and diverse role dedicated to equipping our clients with digital skills connected.

  • Reader Leader

    Love reading? Our Reader Leader volunteer leads a reading group by reading a novel, short story or poem aloud to the group. Group members are encouraged by the Reader Leader to respond personally, sharing feelings, thoughts and memories provoked by the reading.

  • Health Hub Volunteer

    Our Healthier Lifestyles team aims to support older people managing health existing conditions and improve their physical and mental wellbeing through exercise classes and health talks. Make a difference to your local community by volunteering at one of our Health Hubs across Croydon borough.

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, and support the work we do in the community.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone can be a volunteer! We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills.

How much time do I need to give?

Our roles are varied, so whether you only have a few hours to spare, or a whole day, please get in touch and we can find a role to suit you. It takes time to recruit, induct and train our volunteers, which is why we ask for a minimum commitment of six months.

What else you can do to support us

  • Take part in a fundraiser

    Could you help us to raise vital funds by taking part in a fundraising event? We have occasional events such as sponsored walks, but you could also do your own fundraiser like a cake sale.

  • Group Volunteering

    Could you talk to your colleagues or your employer about how you can support us? We have lots of ideas for how organisations can get involved, including sponsoring an event, making us Charity of the Year, or donating equipment.
