Keep Well This Winter at the Yemeni mosque

Published on 22 November 2011 04:00 PM

Cardiff's Yemeni Mosque in Butetown will be getting a visit today (Wednesday 23 November) from Age Cymru's Keep Well this Winter coordinator Joanne Bass.

Joanne will be giving a talk about keeping warm, safe and well during the winter months, as she explains:

"Winter can be difficult for older people and it is a time when it is particularly important that they are looking after their health.

"The Keep Well This Winter campaign raises awareness among older people of how to keep warm, safe and well in winter.

"At today's seminar we will be looking at things such as the importance of having a flu jab, heating and insulation improvements you can make to your home; saving energy; social tariffs for gas and electricity customers and the Winter Fuel Payment."

The talk will also cover the importance of eating three times a day; keeping a well-stocked store cupboard; preparing your home for winter and how to get a free home fire safety check.

Keep Well This Winter is a Welsh Government campaign run by Age Cymru.
