Take the 'Spread the Warmth Challenge'

Published on 20 February 2014 11:00 AM

Cardiff and Pontypridd's over 60s can now find out if they can boost their income by taking the Age Cymru ‘Spread the Warmth Challenge'.

We are inviting older people to make an appointment to speak with one of our team members at our offices at 58 Merthyr Road in Whitchurch, and 25 Taff Street in Pontypridd.

It's all part of Age Cymru's annual Spread the Warmth campaign to help make winter a better time for older people across Wales.

Zoe Newland , general manager of Age Cymru Enterprises says:

"We're all feeling the pinch in the current economic climate and the rising cost of living is a concern for many of us.

"But there are some simple things that older people can do to try and make the most of their money, such as the Age Cymru ‘Spread the Warmth Challenge'.

"With an estimated £5.5 billion in benefits for older people going unclaimed across the UK every year, we'd encourage everyone to have a benefits healthcheck.

"Call in to Age Cymru Enterprises' offices at 58 Merthyr Road in Cardiff or 25 Taff Street in Pontypridd to make an appointment to speak to one of our staff members to see if you're entitled to any extra money.

"We can also help you fill in all the forms, make you a cup of tea and while you're here, why not see if Age Cymru can also save you money on your energy bill?"

The ‘Spread the Warmth Challenge' is available in Cardiff on Monday and Friday and Tuesday and Thursday in Pontypridd.

You can contact the Age Cymru Enterprises offices at 58 Merthyr Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff by calling 0800 652 9220, and the Age Cymru Enterprises office at 25 Taff Street in Pontypridd on 0800 652 9221.
