Life on a low income

A recent report by Age Cymru has cast new light on what life is like for older people in poverty in Wales. In Wales, an estimated 84,000 older people live in poverty. This situation is preventable. Up to a third of available financial support for older people goes unclaimed but our benefits advisers are helping to change this.

NHS Continuing Healthcare deadline 31/7/14

Thousands of families in Wales are at risk of missing the chance to claim back wrongly paid care home fees. The NHS is responsible for paying the fees for people who receive care primarily for health reasons. The deadline for claims is 31st July 2014. For more information visit: www.wales.nhs.uk/retrospective-claims

Thousands of families in Wales are at risk of missing the chance to claim back wrongly paid care home fees.
The NHS is responsible for paying the fees for people who receive care primarily for health reasons, regardless of the person's financial circumstances or whether the care was in a nursing home or in their own home.
 
The deadline for claims is that families is the 31 July 2014.
