Volunteers Week 2017

06 June 2017

Our volunteers make the difference!

For over 30 years, the first week of June has been designated Volunteers Week. Volunteers Week is an opportunity for us to revel in and celebrate volunteering; and, our volunteers really do deserve celebration!

Our 80 volunteers give their time for free, supporting our services to reach vulnerable local people. From visiting clients in their own homes and taking them to social events to delivering quality advice & information, assisting with benefit forms, snapping photos of community resources and sending them to our information brokers in Bridgend or helping us raise much needed funds; our volunteers have a big impact on both the people we support and our organisation.

Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to support as many people as we do across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend. We are truly grateful for them.

Throughout the week, our Workforce Development Manager, Georgina and our new Volunteer Coordinator, Kerry-Anne, will be attending recruitment events in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend to promote our voluntary roles and to find passionate people join us at Age Cymru Swansea Bay.

We're always looking for new volunteers to ensure that we can carry on making a difference and bringing joy to vulnerable, local people across the Western Bay.
