About Age UK Oldham

Age UK Oldham is here to help make later life a more fulfilling experience for older people in our local area

We are a local autonomous charity and rely on diverse income streams and work in partnership with the Local Authority and NHS Oldham delivering services under contract agreements.

The organisation provides opportunities for the entire spectrum of older people in the local area including traditional day care services, falls prevention classes, personal Life Stories project and disability, mobility and healthcare aids.

We also run preventative projects aimed at a more diverse population, including our handyvan service, shopping service and lunch clubs.

Working together, our staff initiate fresh, interesting ways to secure health and independence for local older people helping maintain their involvement in the wider community. We manage a full range of services that benefit older people either directly or through the generation of funds.

Age UK Oldham provide an array of information and advice services including pensions and benefits, choosing the right care and social and leisure projects such as tea dances, intergenerational projects and a local singing group.

More than 36% of what we spend providing services for local people is raised by us via our charity shops and trading outlets selling insurance and community equipment.
