Age UK West Cumbria is an independent local charity established in 1993. We are a full member of the Council of Ageing and of the Age Concern Federation.
Age Concern Northwest Cumbria has joined forces with Age UK - the new national charity combining Age Concern England and Help the Aged in a new partnership for the future. As Age UK West Cumbria, we will continue to operate as a local, independent charity - raising and spending funds locally to provide services for people in later life in Allerdale and Copeland.Working with our national Age UK partners will enable us to combine our strengths to improve our services and strengthen our campaigns to help address the challenges of an ageing population and bring about positive change.

The new name for
A world in which older people in Allerdale and Copeland flourish.
To improve the lives of older people in Allerdale and Copeland.
Our aim is to ensure that people living in Allerdale and Copeland can maintain their independence through informed choice, social activities and person centred services in later years.
Our centres in Millom, Whitehaven, Egremont, Workington, Cockermouth and Wigton provide easy access to information resources and money wise advice. We provide day opportunities and other activities from community venues. We can also help in the home with household tasks and handy person services.
We are supported by our local community and volunteers, who support our fundraising activities, donate to and purchase items from our eight charity shops and buy our insurance and utility products.
We use any money we raise to help older people in West Cumbria.
Age UK West Cumbria recognises that every person is an individual with different needs, preferences and abilities. We value difference and welcome diversity - both in our workforce and in our services.
