This includes best practice guides utilising work and experiences from Target: Wellbeing projects as well as knowledge gained through partnership working. The available resources are listed below:
Enriched Opportunities ‘How To’ Guide
This Guide leads an organisation through setting up, running and sustaining a successful project to improve the nutritional, physical and mental wellbeing of older people in residential care. The Guide explains the practicalities of providing sustainable activities, using learning and robust evaluation from the Enriched Opportunities project. There are two sections - an organisational Guide and Project Worker’s Handbook - for ease of use. Domiciliary Care
This Guide is a practical resource that explicitly details how to maximise impact on nutritional, physical and mental wellbeing for those with high end needs living in their own homes. It is to be used by those who are caring for an older person and is divided into six sections, each addressing a specific area of need. Reading Groups for Older People
This Guide is a practical resource that explicitly details how to set up and run Reading and Reminiscence Groups, and how to maximise impact on wellbeing. The Reading Groups for Older People Project provides sessions in care settings, improving mental wellbeing and quality of life through reading and discussion. Nutrition Scoping
This Nutrition Guide pulls together the most recent and relevant documents concerning nutrition-related practice for older people in Care Homes. The guide includes current nutritional standards and guidance, recent projects and research, local projects, examples of training and examples of nutritional screening tools.
