The Pewsey Older Persons Partnership (also know as POPP) meets on a regular basis to discuss and tackle issues affecting older people in the Pewsey area. The aim of the partnership is that by coming together we can do more for older people.
POPP was created in February 2016 by Age UK Wiltshire working in partnership with Wiltshire Council. A launch event was held inviting all local organisations involved in supporting older people to attend. The key questions discussed were:
- How could services for older people be improved in Pewsey?
- Would a partnership between local organisations be beneficial?
The feedback from this first event was very positive and everyone who attended thought that working together would help support older people at a time when services are closing or shrinking. Priorities were identified such as looking at community transport and support for carers, both of which were featured at our meeting in July 2016, details of whcih can downloaded below.

The next meeting of the partnership is scheduled to be held in October. After this event the partnership will be looking at holding a community event in Spring 2017 in which we would like to invite members of the public to come along, share your ideas and be involved!
