Why do clothes need to be cleaned before they are donated to one of our shops?

The main reason we cannot sell an item is if it is dirty or damaged, even a good quality item will not be suitable for sale if it is dirty. Few people are aware that many charity shops lack access to a washing machine, therefore cannot clean clothes before placing them for sale. Furthermore, our resources for repairing items are typically limited, unless the repair is straightforward and the item holds significant value for preservation.

This is why we request, clean and good quality items only, for donation - to ensure that items are suitabe for sale, and that nothing is wasted.
