Driving in later life

Driving in later life

Information about driving safely and legally in later life.

For many people, driving is about more than just getting from A to B. Driving gives you freedom and independence.

Getting older doesn’t necessarily mean you have to stop driving and there’s no legal age at which you have to stop. As long as you don’t have a medical condition that affects your driving, it’s up to you to decide if you’re still safe to do so.

Age Scotland's Older Drivers' guide looks at how you can stay safe on the roads for as long as possible, your legal obligations, the medical conditions you must declare and other ways to get around if you feel it is time to stop driving.
