Older driver's guide

Older woman driving

Getting older doesn’t necessarily mean you have to stop driving and there’s no legal age at which you have to stop. As long as you don’t have a medical condition that affects your driving, it’s up to you to decide if you’re still safe to do so.

For many people, driving is about more than just getting from A to B. Driving gives you freedom and independence, so our Older driver's guide looks at how you can stay safe on the roads for as long as possible.

It’s not always easy to know when you’ve reached the point where you need to stop driving. It can be a really hard decision to make, but it doesn't mean you have to give up your independence. Our guide also provides information about alternatives so you can still get out and about.
