Nominations call for Age Scotland Awards 2012

18 July 2012

Age Scotland is calling on individuals and organisations to apply for the Age Scotland Awards 2012.
The Awards will highlight and celebrate the contributions of those in Scotland who have made a significant difference to people in later life.
There are two award categories: The Jess Barrow Award for Campaigning and the Patrick Brooks Award for Partnership Working.
The Jess Barrow Award is given to an individual or group that have campaigned on specific issues and effected change to the benefit of older people.
The Patrick Brooks Award celebrates those individuals, groups or organisations that have demonstrated effective partnership working in the interests of older people.
Callum Chomczuk, Age Scotland's Senior Policy and Parliamentary Officer, said:
"The Age Scotland Awards are the perfect platform to thank those who have worked to help improve the lives of older people in Scotland. We want to encourage local groups, projects and individuals to put themselves forward or alternatively nominate someone they think is deserving of recognition. This is a great opportunity to get hard work and effort highlighted and to appreciate those who have really helped to effect change for older people."
Anyone who would like to apply for the Awards can download an application form or phone 0845 833 0200 to request one.
The closing date for applications is Friday 12 October, and winners will be contacted at the end of October and invited to attend the Charity's AGM on 14 November in Edinburgh to accept their award. Tweet
