Accident Claim Service

Age Scotland, in partnership with Solicitors for Older People Scotland (SOPS), has launched a new, free Accident Claim Helpline which seeks to give older people in Scotland a fairer service when it comes to making a personal injury claim.

The most important benefits of this new service to older people are:

• Their claim will be handled by regulated, specialist personal injury solicitors
• They will keep 100% of any compensation that is awarded to them

When we became aware that many of the accident claim helplines and other personal injury practitioners take as much as 30% of an individual's compensation pay out in the event of a successful claim, we felt it was something that older people need to be aware of and an alternative offered.

We're giving the opportunity to older people, where they've been involved in an accident, to pick up the phone to us. There's no obligation and we're able to talk them through the process and understand that if successful what is rightly due to them will come to them.

Anyone who isn't sure about where they stand can phone the Accident Claim Helpline without any pressure and we can make them aware of their rights.
