Dementia Awareness Training

We offer free dementia awareness training for Age Scotland members, older people’s clubs and groups, charities and community groups.

Our training sessions can last anything from 1 – 3 hours and cover a diversity of topics relevant to understanding dementia and being inclusive of people living with dementia, including:

  • What is dementia?
  • Understanding the brain and the signs and symptoms of dementia
  • Diagnosis and support
  • Communication
  • Inclusion and stigma
  • Prevention and living well with dementia
  • Wellbeing and mood
  • Creating enabling environments

Our training is for groups of 8 – 16 people. At present all of our sessions are delivered online, but when face-to-face activities can resume in the future, we will offer both online and in-person sessions

Please see our training calendar for all scheduled courses.

Additionally, we can run a session for your organisation which is tailored to your requirements.

Please get in touch with the dementia training team at dementiatraining@agescotland.org.uk if you have any questions or would like to book a training session.
