Welfare Benefits Advice Service
- Location: Age UK Bexley
- Price: Free
Telephone: 0208 300 0883
Our Welfare Benefit Advice service offers a free, confidential and independent advice service to older residents living in the London Borough of Bexley.
Advice and support is available at our offices in Belvedere, over the phone or in your own home (where possible). When you first contact us, we will carry out an Initial Assessment. This helps us to fully understand your circumstances and ensure that we provide the most appropriate level of support tailored to your individual needs.
The services we provide include:
Benefit Checks
A benefit check requires details of your income, savings, and your circumstances, to check that you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to. There are means-tested and non-means tested benefits that we can help you to identify with the right information. We can advise you about the benefits you may be entitled to, how to claim them and what effect they may have on any other benefits.
A Form Completion Service
We can also help with completing applications for benefits, such as:
- Pension Credit
- Attendance Allowance and Carer’s Allowance
- Personal Independence Payment and Housing Benefit
- Council Tax Support and Blue Badge applications
Research suggests that millions of older people are living in poverty in the UK, with Black and Asian older people most at risk. Our Welfare Benefit Team are encouraging pensioners to check their eligibility for all benefits.
