Volunteer role description

Our Ageing Well service is growing – can you help?  

We are seeking someone to share our new and existing activities with partners, other groups and venues and help collect feedback to find out what our clients enjoy and need.  

This role would therefore suit someone who can drive or travel, with basic IT skills, but most importantly someone who enjoys promoting activities, talking to clients, volunteers and potential new clients.

What you'll be doing

• Dropping off and replacing new leaflets and posters at local venues and current classes, as well as places like supermarkets, libraries, other community venues and local shops (with permission)
• Gathering feedback on our Ageing Well service through chatting to clients
• Booking guest speakers and preparing activities for our social events 
• Assisting at our social events - setting up and making drinks

We're looking for someone who...

• Enjoys talking to different groups of people 
• Enjoys working out and about in the community
• Has basic IT skills
• Has good organisational skills
• Has access to a vehicle

As there is an element of travel in this role, the ideal volunteer would have access to their own vehicle, business insurance and a clean driving licence. We reimburse travel expenses at the rate of 45p a mile, on receipt of a completed and authorised monthly expenses sheet.

Time requirements

Half a day per week on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

This would suit someone who can be flexible and creative, depending on what is required, some weeks there might be more to do than others, but we hope with the right volunteer this will become an established role that they will enjoy making their own.
