Campaign

Women laughing outside

Campaigning is when we get together and put pressure on decision makers to make a specific change that will improve our lives.

By campaigning together we can improve lives, bringing more happiness and security in later life.

The issues we campaign on range from calling for reform of the way care services are provided, to trying to improve the bus route in our local community. Once the issue is identified we put pressure on the key individuals who have the power to make the changes we want.

Campaigning is something we can all get involved in, whether it’s writing to our MP, signing a petition, or simply telling our friends and family about the issue. By joining together we can improve later life for all of us.

Malnutrition in hospital

Too many of us are going hungry in hospital, leaving us at higher risk of infection and likely to take longer to get better.

Depression in later life

Our down but not out campaign calls for effective treatment and support for more than two million of us suffering from depression.

Poverty in retirement

Two million cannot pay all bills

We have to campaign for increases in pensions and benefits, and for everyone to receive what they are entitled to.

Age discrimination

Our just equal treatment campaign calls for fair access to services, insurance and employment, and for the government to scrap the default retirement age.

Poor quality care services

Care services are failing thousands of us who struggle on alone when all we need is some help with everyday tasks. Join our Big Q campaign for quality care in later life.

Older people's forums

Have your say in the decisions that affect our lives, by joining an independent local forum.

By working together in local forums, we are making our voices heard on the issues that matter to us in later life, influencing the provision of services locally, regionally and nationally.
